Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh): Police in Siswa town of the district on Sunday seized a huge cache of banned drugs and arrested 3 people. Police Superintendent Dr Kaustubh said on Monday that all three accused have been sent to jail and will be booked under Gangster Act

Dr. Kaustubh said that during checking yesterday, a huge quantity of banned drugs was recovered from a pickup van coming from Bhujauli. The driver Krishan Gopal Singh son of Vinod Singh,  resident of Belwa Chaudhary is one the three arrested.

The seized drugs include 5880 vials Medirex cough syrup, 5880 vials Fensif and 2400 vials Onarex and 4436 vials of Rextas syrup. Besides, two mobile phones and the pickup van have also been seized.  

On interrogation the driver told the cops that the pickup van belongs to Rohit Bhatt, a transporter. When the cops raided the godown of Rohit, they found many unaccounted boxes of cough syrup. When asked, Rohit told the cops that 79 boxes belong to Rahul Jaiswal of  Samruddhi Medical Store but no valid voucher was found.

The cops then called Rahul who confessed that 79 boxes were kept there by him. 

The police has arrested all 3 accused, Krishna Gopal Singh, Rohit Bhatt and Rahul Jaiswal and registered a case under MM 152/22 Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
