Maharajganj: Prosperity to a class 12th student by floriculture inspires many others

Maharajganj: A student from a poor family has become an inspiration to many a farmers and youths. Sonu Chaudhary aka Sunny, a 12th class student from Jaipuria Inter College, started farming of marigold flowers about three years ago. In the beginning he brought 2000 saplings from Varanasi and  planted them in 30 decimals of land. 

Though, at initial stage, Sunny faced some hardships but finally success kissed his forehead. 

And today Sunny takes two crops a year --one from February to July and another from September to January of next year. The investment in these two crops comes around Rs.15,000 which yields a profit of about Rs.25,000.

He hails from Harraiyapur area of Pharenda Khurd in Pharendra Block.

His family members also help and support him in his endeavour. At the same time his efforts are encouraging the youths of the area to go for floriculture.

In fact Sunny got inspiration for cultivation of flowers from one of his relatives Sharda Chaudhary in Mehdawal. From there he learnt methods of floriculture.

Sunny told Dynamite News that there is a huge demand of flowers during festival and marriage seasons. The wholesale dealers directly come to their field and buy flowers in bulk. He further said that keeping in view the massive demand, he is planing to extend his farming. 

Besides Sunny many others including Suraj Saini, Manoj Kumar and Kamlesh of other villages have also started floriculture.
