Maha Kumbh 2025: Kumbh-bound passengers create chaos at MP Railway Stations, watch video

Chhatarpur: People heading for the Maha Kumbh hurled stones at trains  in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district after being unable to board the train as the trains were overcrowded, officials said on Tuesday. 

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the stones were thrown at the trains at the Chhatarpur and Harpalpur railway stations on Monday night.

Video surfaced on social media
Some videos have also surfaced on internet, in which  people can be seen shouting at the railway stations. In one such video, some people can be seen throwing stones and hitting at the doors of a train, and trying to force open them.

Passenger shares experience
A passenger, who was going to Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, told reporters that he could not board a train as all its doors and windows were closed.

Government Railway Police
Subsequently, the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel opened doors of a train at Chhatarpur. However, owing to overcrowding, people could not board the Prayagraj-bound train, he said.

Railway officer said that confirmed that the they came to know about the chaos created at at the two railway stations. They asserted that railway will take strickter security measures to make sure it does not occur again. (With Agency Inputs)
