Madhya Pradesh: Blast at ordnance factory in Jabalpur; 15 injured

Jabalpur: At least 15 employees were injured in an explosion at the Ordnance Factory Khamaria in Jabalpur on Tuesday.

The injured workers were taken to a private hospital in Jabalpur for treatment, with two individuals in critical condition.

Officials said the blast occurred at the Central Security Institute Ordnance Factory in Khamaria, where bombs and explosives are manufactured.

3 seriously injured
They said three of the injured people, who are employees of the factory, have been rushed to a private hospital for urgent treatment and their condition is said to be critical. 

Ordnance factory, Jabalpur

A hydraulic system reportedly malfunctioned during the bomb-filling process in building 200 of the factory's F-6 section, causing the blast. 

Powerful blast
The blast was so powerful that it could be heard in a 5-km radius of the factory. Residents living near the factory said they thought it was an earthquake and many also ran out of their homes.

The condition of three employees is said to be critical.
