The seven states were: Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Total 674 aspirants were decided by 8, 75, 88,722 voters at around 96,000 polling booths. Around 12 per cent candidates in fray in the 51 constituencies are women, the highest so far.

With the end of Fifth phase poll, the electoral process for 425 seats will be completed, leaving 118 seats for sixth and seventh phase poll, to be held on 12 May and 19 May, respectively.(With ANI inputs)
