LS polls: BJP to contest on 13 seats, ally AJSU to fight on one in Jharkhand

BJP general secretary Bhupender Yadav on Friday announced that BJP will contest on 13 seats in Lok Sabha elections while, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will fight on one seat.

New Delhi: BJP general secretary Bhupender Yadav on Friday announced that BJP will contest on 13 seats in Lok Sabha elections while, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will fight on one seat.

Speaking to the media here, Yadav said, “In Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party will fight on 13 out of 14 seats and All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) will fight on one seat from Jharkhand.”

This announcement comes after the party’s parliamentary board meeting, which was called to discuss the strategy for the upcoming General Elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi BJP President Amit Shah, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other senior leaders were present at the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting at party's headquarters in Delhi, on Friday.

The Lok Sabha elections are due to take place between April and May. The Election Commission is expected to announce the election dates soon. (ANI)
