Patna: The Lockdown imposed in Bihar to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection was today further extended till June 8 in the state.

In view of the declining trend in the detection of the positive cases the following lock down imposed on May 05 this year during the second wave of the pandemic, the government decided to further extend it for a week till June 8.

The decision for extension of the lockdown was taken in a meeting of crisis management group held on Monday under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Soon after the meeting, the Chief Minister informed about the decision through his official tweet on social media.

In his tweet, Kumar said that some more relaxations have been given to the commercial activities.

He appealed to the people to use facemask, maintain social distance and strictly follow the guidelines issued in connection with COVID 19.

Earlier in view of the surging cases of coronavirus infection during the second wave of the pandemic, the lockdown was imposed on May 5 which was further extended to break the chain and it has again been extended till June 08 in the state.(UNI)
