New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Rekha Gupta will be the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi. The 50-year-old leader will take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday at the iconic Ramleela Ground.

Rekha Gupta wins Shalimar Bagh Seat
Rekha Gupta won from Shalimar Bagh assembly seat by defeating AAP's Bandana Kumari and Congress's Parveen Kumar Jain. She garnered 68,200 votes.

General Secretary of Delhi BJP
The 50-year old leader curently serving as the General Secretary of Delhi BJP and has previously been the National Vice President of the party' Mahila Morcha. 

Her entry into politics began with student politics, where she served as the President of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) between 1996 and 1997. Gupta's transition into mainstream politics was marked by her win in the Delhi Councillor elections from Uttari Pitampura (Ward 54) in 2007, followed by her re-election in 2012. Notably, she has also held the position of Mayor in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

She was elected to the Delhi Councillor elections from Uttari Pitampura (Ward 54) in 2007. She was again elected in Delhi Councillor elections from North Pitampura (Ward 54) in 2012. She was again elected in Delhi Councillor elections from North Pitampura (Ward 54) in 2012.

Ninth CM of Delhi 
Rekha Gupta was born on 19 July 1974. She will serve as 9th Chief Minister of Delhi from 20 February 2025.

She would be fourth female CM of Delhi and 8th overall to hold this office. She is a former general secretary and president of Delhi University Students Union, a member of national executive of the party and general secretary of Delhi state unit of the party.

She became the President of Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) in the year 1996–1997.
