New Delhi: Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, and the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the office beaters of the AICC here.

During his inaugural address, Kharge attacked the BJP for not addressing the issues of the common man silencing the elected Opposition from raising their voice.

He said, “You all must be aware that the country needs a change and to make it possible, we have to work day and night at the grassroots level and win the confidence of the people”.

He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had converted the Parliament as a platform for greetings and applause and this is not acceptable. “So, to raise issues related to public, we have to go to the people. And Rahul Gandhi has chosen the Yatra to raise issues pertaining to social, financial justice, price rise, unemployment, caste-based census and other issues being faced by the people of the country”.

He said today the situation is different there is an alliance of the Opposition called INDIA alliance, and one can see the confusion in BJP due to it. “BJP has now understood the power of the opposition alliance”.

The Congress president said that the NDA has no success story to tell the country instead it had ruined all the assets that were earned in the last 70 years of the country by giving it some of their select friends.

The Rajya Sabha MP also asked his party leaders to restrain from making any such comments which would spoil the image of the party.

He further added that the Congress’ fight was against the mentality of BJP and RSS. Adding that Congress should walk on the path shown by great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose and Sarojini Naidu.
