New Delhi: Election Commission of India on Tuesday has announced the dates of Karnataka Assembly polls, which is scheduled to be held on 12 May and counting of the votes on 15 May.
OP Rawat, CEO of Election Commission of India, said that total number of Polling stations in Karnataka is 56, 696 (an increase of 9%) for 224 seats, where over 4.96 crore people will exercise their franchise.

To avoid EVM tampering, ECI will provide EVMS And VVPATs in all polling stations and special arrangements will be made for women voters. Election expenditure monitoring has been issued in detail and it will be monitored rigorously. The expenditure for all polling will be around 58 lakhs.
