Mainpuri: Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Akhilesh Yadav and MP Dimple Yadav on Friday shared the stage in Mainpuri's Karhal to campaign for the party candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, their suppoters came in large number to see Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav. Dimple Yadav was seen interacting with SP candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, while the crowd raised slogan in praise of Akhilesh and Dimple Yadav.
Addressing the gathering, Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav began by thanking the people for giving a historic victory to the SP in the Lok Sabha elections. She also exuded confidence that the SP would win all seats in this by-polls.

Akhilesh Yadav, addressing the crowd after Dimple, took a jibe at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath without naming him. He quipped, "After the by-elections, he will only be seen doing yoga."

Akhilesh also congratulated the protesting UPPSC students for their victory as the commission announced that PCS exam would be held in one day and single shift. The aspirants were demanding that the examination should be conducted in one shift in a single day instead of two days.

SP candidate Tej Pratap Yadav is facing his relative and Saifai family member Anujesh Yadav, who is contesting on a BJP ticket from the Karhal seat.
Karhal seat was represented by Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who vacated it after being elected to the Lok Sabha in general elections held earlier this year.

By-elections for nine assembly seats, including Karhal, in Uttar Pradesh will be held on November 20. The outcome of the polls will be announced on November 23.
