New Delhi: TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee has been suspended for two meetings from Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf board Bill.

Kalyan Banerjee was suspended for his 'choice for words' for panel's chairman Jagdambika Pal and his conduct in a meeting of the JPC on the Waqf Bill, according to sources.

Parliamentary Committee on Waqf (Amendment) Bill voted 9-8 on a resolution moved by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey seeking the suspension of TMC MP, the sources added. He was suspended under the rule 261 and 374(1)(2) of Lok Sabha.
