JNU, DU students hold protest march against ABVP

New Delhi: Students from the Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University on Tuesday staged a protest march against the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in North Campus area over the Ramjas college scuffle.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up outside Delhi University's Arts Faculty in the wake of a protest march.
Earlier in the day, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members staged a hunger strike outside Delhi University's Arts faculty.

Last week, Left-affiliated All India Students Association (AISA) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) backed ABVP engaged into a scuffle over cancellation of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid's talk at Delhi University's Ramjas College.
The seminar was withdrawn by the college authorities following opposition by the ABVP.
A Delhi University student and daughter of Kargil war martyr, Gurmehar Kaur, has also invited a stir by posting a message against the ABVP on social media.

Kaur also visited the Delhi Commission for Women alleging that she received rape threats on social media for posting the message.
The Delhi Police also filed an FIR against the rape threat to Kaur. The FIR was registered under relevant Sections of the IT Act and IPC. (ANI)
