Srinagar: Three unidentified militants suspected to be foregoiners have been killed in a gunfight in Jammu Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said on Saturday.

The gunfight erupted at Chak Tapper Kreeri Pattan Tilwani Mohalla late Friday when a team of joint forces launched a cordon and search operation following an input about militant presence in an abandoned building.

"As the forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering an encounter. In the ongoing operation. three terrorists have been neutralised,” a security official said.
Affiliation unknown
The identity and group affiliation of the slain could not be established immediately.

However, sources said the trio were suspected to be foreigners.
On Friday, two Army men were killed and two others were injured in an encounter in the Chatroo area of the Kishtwar district of Jammu region. (with Agency inputs)
