J&K: Three apprehended after narco terror network busted in Kupwara

Srinagar: Security forces busted a narco terror network in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district by arresting three suspects, police said on Saturday.

Police said, following an input that a person was trying to sell heroin, a joint trap with the Army was laid in the border area of Karnah Kupwara, and two persons were apprehended with approximately 500 grams of heroin.

The police identified the two as Shafeeq Ahmad Sheikh of Khawarpara Karnah and Tariq Ahmad Malik of Baghballa.

“Further investigation revealed the presence of three pistols and one Parvez Ahmed Pathan of Sadhpura. Immediately Parvez was apprehended in a joint raid by the JKP and Army, and 3 pistols, 76 pistol rounds, 6 pistol magazines, and approximately 5 kg of suspected explosives were recovered from his possession,” police said.
