Omar elected leader of NC legislature party, Gets 4 Independent MLAs support

In J&K Assembly polls, the NC won 42 seats while its alliance partner Congress won 6.

Srinagar: Four Independent MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday offered its support to National Conference (NC) days after the results for the 90-member J&K House were announced. 

Pyare Lal Sharma (Inderwal), Satish Sharma (Chhamb), Choudhary Mohammed Akram (Surankote), and Dr Rameshwar Singh (Bani seat) extended their support to NC.

Omar elected leader of NC legislature party

Earlier, NC leader and former J&K chief Minister Omar Abdullah was unanimously elected as the leader of the JKNC legislature party.
The NC has emerged as the single largest party in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly assembly polls with 42 seats while its alliance partners Congress and CPI(M) has won six seats and one seats respectively.

 The Bharatiya Janata Party won 29 seats. The People's Democratic Party could win three seats. 

Omar Abdullah won both the Budgam and Ganderbal seats.
