Jammu: An Army Captain was killed on Wednesday after an encounter with terrorists in the Assar area of Doda. According to reports, a civilian was injured.
Officer first suffered gunshots
The Captain suffered gunshot injuries due to firing by militants and was evacuated to hospital where he succumbed to serious injuries.

"Captain Deepak led from front and was the third person behind scouts while search ops commenced", a senior officer said.
An operation has been launched to capture the terrorists, one of whom was wounded.

US M4 rifle recovered
Meanwhile, security forces recovered a US-made M4 assault rifle and three rucksacks with assorted equipment and logistics from the encounter site.
Sources said the Army was tipped off to the terrorists' hideout Tuesday evening. There was a brief exchange of fire last night and the operaion resumed this morning. (with Agency inputs)
