Jio Manager Kidnapping: 3 absconding criminals held after Hathras encounter

Hathras: Three criminals, accused of the kidnapping of Jio Fiber manager Abhinav Bhardwaj in Hathras were arrested on Sunday morning during a police encounter near Ruheri-Kindoli canal cut in Kotwali Hathras Gate area, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
During vehicle checking, police surrounded the three bike-borne criminals. When the police tried to stop them, the criminals opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory action by the police, two criminals were shot and injured who were admitted to the district hospital.
Two pistols, two shells, four live cartridges and a bike without number plate were recovered from the criminals.
With the arrest of these three, the police has now nabbed all the seven criminals in this infamous kidnapping case.

Three criminals
The three criminals arrested during the encounter include one from Bulandshahr, one from Hathras and the third one from Almora.
The three were identified as Prashant, Anshul alias Golu and Virendra alias Prince.
During the encounter, Prashant and Anshul alias Golu were shot in the leg.
Hathras SP statement
Hathras Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha said on Sunday that this morning the police tried to stop the three miscreants riding a bike, but instead of stopping, the miscreants opened fire on the police. Two miscreants were shot in the retaliatory action of the police. All three were later arrested.

Joint operation by police and STF
Jio Fiber manager Abhinav Bhardwaj was kidnapped from Hathras on January 1. A joint team of police and STF rescued Abhinav Bhardwaj safely after the arrest of the kidnappers in an encounter in the Civil Lines police station area of Moradabad on January 4.
Three accused were absconding in the case, who were arrested on Sunday.
Further investigation is underway.
