According to the police, the explosion took place at Bologna Casalecchio and the junction with the A14 route from Bologna to Taranto.

A spokesman for the local health agency Marco Granna said that around 55 people were taken to the hospital for treatment of first-, second- and third-degree burns.

Two police officers were also reportedly injured in the explosion. Police have warned public against going near the area of the explosion. (ANI)
