IPS Aparna Kumar meets UP CM Yogi before departing for Alaska
IPS Aparna Kumar is departing for Alaska, USA, to scale Mount Denali (6,144m), the highest peak of North American continent.
Lucknow: Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and mountaineer Aparna Kumar, on Wednesday, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath before she went to summit Mount Denali in Alaska (USA).
Kumar is departing for Alaska, USA, to scale Mount Denali (6,144m), the highest peak of North American continent.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister presented the Indian Flag to Kumar .

Hailing it as a proud moment for Uttar Pradesh Police, India and 'women power', Yogi wished her good luck and safe return home.
Having scaled six out of seven highest summits in seven continents, Aparna is set to become the first Indian bureaucrat to successfully achieve the feat.
State Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh, Principal Secretary Home Awanish K. Awasthi and Director General of Police (DGP), Sulkhan Singh were also present on the occasion.

Kumar is a 2002 batch IPS officer, who is also the first lady IPS to scale Mount Everest. (ANI)
