India fully prepared to take back verified illegal migrants: PM Modi

Addressing a join press conference with US President Donald Trump, PM Narendra Modi said India was fully prepared to take back "verified" citizens living in US illegally.

Washington: A week after 104 Indians were deported to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India would take back illegal Indian immigrants living in the US.

During the joint press briefing, PM Modi said: "Those who stay in other countries illegally do not have any legal right to live there. As far as India and the US are concerned, we have always said that those who are verified and are truly the citizens of India - if they live in the US illegally, India is ready to take them back."

"These are children of very ordinary families who are lured by big dreams and big promises. They are misled and brought here. Many brought in through a human trafficking system, he added. 

He further said " We should dismantle human-trafficking eco system."
