Perth: India reduced Australia to 67/7 after being bundled out for 150 runs in the first of the five-match Test series in Perth on Friday.

Bumrah picks 4 saclps

India skipper Jasprit Bumrah picked up four wickets while Mohammed Siraj took two wickets. 

Australia got off to a bad start as Bumrah removed Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney for 8 and 10, respectively. He soon trapped Steven Smith for 0, reducing the hosts to 19/3.

Later, Dubutant Harshit Rana dismissed Travis Head for 11 runs before Mohammed Siraj removed Mitchell Marsh for 6. Austrail skipper Pat Cummins was dismissed by Bumrah for 3. 

At stumps, Alex Carey (19*) and Mitchell Starc (6*) were at the crease. The hosts still trailing by 83 runs. 

India wins the toss

Earlier in the day, Bumrah won the toss and elected to bat first. 

Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top scorer for the visitors with 41 off 59 balls. Wicket-keeper and batter Rishabh Pant scored 37 runs.

Pacer Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts with figures of 4/29 while skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh and Mitchell Starc got two wickets each. 

This is the lowest total by team India in the first innings against Australia, tying with the 150 scored against Aussies in Sydney back in 2000.

India needs to win the series 4-0 to qualify for the World Test Championship final for the third consecutive final.
