Melbourne: Australia defeated India by 184-run in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Monday.

Wicket-keeper and batter Rishabh Pant 28 and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were at the crease and started the final session of the match on a good note and faced the Aussie spin attack with confidence.
In the 59th over, part-timer Travis Head helped Australia to dismiss Pant in the fourth ball of the 59th over. The India wicketkeeper-batter tried to attack the Aussie spinner and sent the ball over the long-on but didn't have enough power to cross the boundary. Mitchell Marsh ran to his left and took a good catch to get rid of Pant.
The Aussie bowling attack rattled the Indian middle-order batters. Ravindra Jadeja who replaced Pant on the crease didn't get enough time to settle in. In the 63rd over, pacer Scott Boland came back into the attack and proved his worth. The Aussie pacer removed Jadeja in the 63rd over for two runs. India were 127/5 in the 63rd over.
Nitish Kumar Reddy
Lyon soon removed first-innings centurion Nitish Kumar Reddy (1), who edged to slip. Subsequently, India's tail could add 25 runs.

Jaiswal & Pant
For India, Jaiswal scored 84 runs while Pant was the second highest run-getter with 30 runs.
For the hosts, Pat Cummins (28/3) and Scott Boland (39/3) were the pick of the bowlers.
Man of the match
Cummins was adjourned player of the match for his all-round performance. He scored 49 runs in first innings and 41 runs in second innings.
