Agartala: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow warning of a warming atmosphere for the next three days in Tripura, forecasting persistent hot and humid weather.

According to an IMD statement, the combination of a partly cloudy sky, intense solar radiation, and the movement of hot westerly winds is expected to push daytime temperatures to 36°C or higher in some areas of the state. Temperatures may remain 3 to 4°C above normal levels across different districts during this period.

Moreover, an increase in atmospheric moisture is likely in certain parts of Tripura, further contributing to rising humidity levels, it stated. Although the state received scant rainfall in isolated places in different districts, Agartala has not recorded any rain in the last three months, creating an unusual environment.

“The prevailing weather conditions pose health risks like heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration, and exacerbation of preexisting diseases, including asthma, heart, and kidney-related ailments,” it added
