Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Police have arrested a person on charges of making a hoax call to the Police Control Room to claim that anonymous persons had placed a bomb in the State Government Secretariat, police said on Monday.
On Sunday night, around at 11 PM, the Police Control Room received the anonymous call from a man hailing from Maranellur, who was taken into custody within hours with the support of the Cyber Police, sources said on Monday.

"The man is being questioned and he seems to be mentally unstable. He claimed that he made the call after he got a message in this regard in his WhatsApp number."

A large number of police, the bomb detection squad and the sniffer dogs were deployed to search for the explosives. Later, they declared the call as a hoax after a couple of hours of search. (UNI)
