Haryana: A total of eight coaches of a goods train derailed at the Tarawari station in Karnal district in Haryana, said the official on Tuesday.

The goods train was headed to Amritsar from Delhi.

"Around 4:40 a.m. today, we got information that a goods train was derailed at the Tarawari station in Karnal.

Eight coaches have been derailed while two wheels have come off. So far, we cannot provide more information as a probe into the reason behind the derailment is underway", said Dinesh, Inspector, Karnal police.

Inspector Dinesh added that the trains on the Delhi-Ambala railway line have been stopped.

"The tracks are also being cleared. It will take a while to do so. However, we are working on it. The trains on the Delhi-Ambala railway line have been stopped. No casualties have been reported", he added.

Earlier last month, two coaches of a goods train loaded with coal derailed near Faridabad railway station in Haryana. However, no injuries were reported in that incident as well. (with Agency inputs)
