Morbi (Gujarat): Bodies of two out of three persons, who drowned in Machchu river near Morbi in Gujarat a day ago, have been recovered, officials said on Thursday.

The body of a young man identified as Bhankhodia Gaurav was found in the Machchu river at four this morning.

The body was later handed over to the family, said Provincial Officer Sushil Parmar.

A second body, identified as that of Parmar Chirag Tejbhai, was taken out by the rescue team, the official added.

Personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Respose Force (SDRF) as well as rescue teams of Morbi and Rajkot are conducting a search operation for the third missing youth.

The three persons had gone to take a bath in the Machchhu river on the outskirts of Morbi town on Wednesday when they went missing, triggering a search.
