Gujarat: 15 held for MBBS student's death in Patan

Patan: Gujarat Police has arrested 15 students of a medical college in Patan district and booked them for culpable homicide not amounting to murder in a case related to the death of a medical student. 

Students suspended
All the 15 were also suspended by medical college after receiving report from its anti-ragging committee.

FIR

The accused allegedly made some of their juniors, including the victim, Anil Methaniya, 18, stand in a hostel room for more than three hours on Saturday night and subjected them to "mental and physical torture," according to the FIR filed on a complaint by college officials. 
 
The FIR said that on November 16, first-year students and second-year students assembled in the common room.

Seniors made juniors stand for hours 

Around 12.30 am on Sunday, Methaniya lost his conscious and later died. The first-year students revealed to the Dean, Dr Hardik Shah, that the second-year students engaged in ragging them by continuously making them stand for more three hours. (With Agency Inputs)
