Govt makes big announcement for Central Govt employees

New Delhi: The Centre on Thursday approved the 8th Central Pay Commission for all employees of Central Government, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said. 

The Union Cabinet has approved the 8th Pay Commission to revise the salaries of central government employees and pensioners. 

7th Pay Commission
The 7th Pay Commission was set up in 2016 and it will end in 2026.

While the Cabinet has approved the 8th Pay Commission, the exact date for its setup has yet to be announced. 

Ashwini Vaishnaw
 Ashwini Vaishnaw said the commission likely to be formed by 2026. Vaishnaw added that the chairman and two members will soon be appointed to oversee the commissioning of the 8th Pay Commission.
