Govt extends tenure of Chief Economic Advisor

New Delhi: The Union Government on Thursday extended the tenure of Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) V Anantha Nageswaran for two years till March 2027. 

Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the extension. 

Nageswaran took charge on January 28, 2022. 

Nageswaran Succeeded K V Subramanian
Nageswaran, a renowned academic and seasoned finance professional with stints at Credit Suisse Group AG and Julius Baer Group, had taken over as the new Chief Economic Adviser, replacing K V Subramanian.
