Gadkari faints at public event, doing well now

Hours after he fainted at a public event here on Friday, Union Cabinet Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari informed that he is doing well now.

Ahmednagar: Hours after he fainted at a public event here on Friday, Union Cabinet Ministe for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari informed that he is doing well now.

Informing about his condition and thanking his well-wishers, Gadkari tweeted: "Had slight medical condition due to low sugar. I have been attended by doctors and I am doing well now. I thank all of you for all the well wishes."

Gadkari had gone to attend a convocation ceremony of an agricultural university in Rahuri earlier in the day and fainted while the national anthem was being sung.

Gadkari was reportedly standing on the stage when he suffered a spell of dizziness. Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao was standing alongside the minister when he suddenly collapsed. Immediately, guests and security personnel rushed to assist him.

As per reports, the cabinet minister was shifted to a nearby hospital for immediate medical assistance. (ANI)
