Kirti Azad accuses BJP-led NDA govt of speaking lies

New Delhi :Trinamool Congress MP Kirti Azad on Friday targeted the BJP-led Central government saying that for the last 11 years, they have been lying, adding that nothing is going to come out of this year's Economic Survey also.

TMC MP Kirti Azad said, "From the last 11 years, the government is merely lying. When PM Modi was candidate for Prime Minister, he made several promises that he will give Rs 15 lakhs to all, 2 crores of jobs every year, half the rates of diesel and petrol. They always lie. All they do is lie. Nothing is going to come out of the Economic Survey..."

Earlier today, Azad Samaj Party-Kanshiram President and MP, Chandrashekhar Azad said that people have hopes from the government.

He further said that this budget session would also impact the upcoming Delhi assembly election.
 "We have hopes from the government but there is fear as well if the govt will fulfil them or not. 

Youth, farmers, women - all have expectations. 

This budget session is at a time when the assembly election in the national capital is about to be held - it will have an impact on that too..."

budget session of the Parliament commenced

The budget session of the Parliament commenced today with the joint address of President Droupadi Murmu.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey for 2024-25 in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, soon after, both houses were adjourned for the day.

According to the Economic Survey, India's economy is projected to grow between 6.3 per cent and 6.8 per cent in FY26.

The survey highlights that the country's economic fundamentals remain strong, supported by a stable external account, fiscal consolidation, and private consumption. 

It noted that the government plans to strengthen long-term industrial growth by focusing on research and development (R&D), micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and capital goods. These measures aim to enhance productivity, innovation, and global competitiveness.

February 1. On budget day

The budget will be presented on February 1. On budget day, the Finance Minister will present the Union Budget in the Lok Sabha at 11 am.

 The budget speech will outline the government's fiscal policies, revenue and expenditure proposals, taxation reforms, and other significant announcements.

Notably, the budget session of parliament will begin on January 31 and, according to schedule, will end on April 4.
