New Delhi: Former Bahujan Samaj Party leader and Uttar Pradesh minister Nakul Dubey on Thursday joined the Congress here.

While welcoming Dubey into the Party, Congress leader Rajiv Shukla said that several other prominent leaders from Uttar Pradesh will soon join the Congress.

Sources said that Dubey had called on Congress General Secretary in-charge for Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi a few days ago.

After joining the Party, Dubey said he has joined the Congress as it is the only Party which can face the BJP.

Dubey is a prominent Brahmin face and played a key role in the formation of Mayawati's government in the state in 2007 due to the Brahmin-Dalit alliance.
