Thane (Maharashtra): A major fire broke out inside the industrial area of Dombivli in Thane after a boiler exploded at the plant of a chemical company.

The incident took place in the MIDC area of Dombivli, near Mumbai.

The explosion was heard several kilometres away, according to fire department officials.

According to the fire department officials, as soon as the information was received, a total of eight fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

The affected company is situated in Phase Two of the MIDC area. Emergency services are actively working to control the blaze and ensure safety.

There is no information yet about injuries or anyone being trapped.
