Lucknow: After getting interim bail from the Supreme Court, SP leader Azam Khan was released from Sitapur Jail after 27 months on Friday.

Samajwadi Party President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav welcomed the release of Azam Khan and said, "Falsehood is transitory, not lasting."

Akhilesh said he hoped that Azam Khan would be acquitted soon in all other false cases.
