At the time, Portugal were trailing 0-1 to Serbia, as Dusan Tadic scored from the penalty spot for the Serbians. However, shortly after Ronaldo's removal, Portugal were able to tie the match through a goal from Danilo Pereira.
Ronaldo has been instrumental in guiding Juventus into the Champions League quarter-finals. The former Real-Madrid star struck a stunning hat-trick to defeat Athletico Madrid to overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit.
After his injury, his status for that quarter-final hangs in the balance.
