Elections to Mayor, Dy Mayor in MCD to be held on Nov 14

Delhi: The Elections to Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be held on November 14, officials said on Monday.
The polls are held every year with the Mayor’s post being rotated among members belonging to different social groups. This year, it is reserved for a Dalit candidate in the third term.

Polls pending for 6 months
The polls to the posts has been pending for 6 months.
According to the order, the postponed April (2024) session of the MCD for the polls of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be conducted on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Aruna Asaf Ali Auditorium.

"The regular November session of the house and the postponed sessions of January and May to September will also take place on the same day and at the same venue, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm," the order read.
