Mumbai: Amid uncertainty over Chief Minister face following a landslide win in the just-concluded assembly polls in the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiva Sena Chief Eknath Shinde on Wednesday said that BJP high command would take the final decision on the CM's post and that he would accept any candidate from Mahayuti as CM. 

Talking to reporters in Mumbai, Shiva Sena Chief Eknath Shinde said: "I left the decision on CM's post to the BJP high Command and we will support any candidate from Mahayuti as the CM of Maharashtra."

He also expressed his gratitude to the voters for Mahayuti's landslide win in the recently-concluded assembly polls. 

I worked like a common man

Eknath Shinde further said that even as CM, he worked like a common man and never considered himself as CM. He added that he brought in many schemes for the benefit of many sections like 'Ladli Behan-Ladla Bhai'.

Shinde resigned as Chief Minister on Tuesday following Mahayuti's landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections in which the alliance won 230 out of 288 seats. Currently, Shinde is a caretaker CM. 

Meanwhile, Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered a setback as the opposition alliance could win 46 seats.
