The results of both the assembly polls will be announced on November 23.
New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced the schedule for Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly polls. While elections in Maharashtra will be conducted in one phase on November 20, Jharkhand Assembly polls to be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20.
The results of both Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly polls will be announced on November 23. The Jharkhand Legislative Assembly's tenure is scheduled to end on January 5.
2.6 crore voters in Jharkhand
According to the ECI, total 2.6 crore voters are eligible to cast their votes in the 81-members Jharkhand assembly.
According to the schedule, 47 Assembly seats will go to vote on November 13 in the first phase while the remaining 34 Legislative Assembly seats will go for polling on November 20.
The gazette notification for Jharkhand polls will be issued on November 18. The last day to file the nomination papers for the first phase elections will be October 25 and October 29 for the second phase.
In 2019, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance won 47 of the state's 82 seats.
Maharashtra polls Nov 20
Meanwhile, elections for Maharashtra's 288-member assembly will be conducted on November 20 while the results will be announced with Jharkhand assebmly polls on November 23.

In 2019, Maharashtra assembly election saw BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) win a majority, but owing to disagreements over Chief Minister post, Shiv Sena parted ways with NDA.
Later, Shiv Sena formed a post-poll allinace with Sharad Pawar's NCP and Congress. On June 29, 2022, Uddhav Thackeray resigned as Chief Minister following a split in the party.
