EC announces dates of upcoming assembly election in 5 states, counting on 11 Dec

Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates of upcoming elections in five states of the country.

New Delhi: Election Commission on Saturday announced the dates of upcoming assembly elections in five states of the country. 

Voting dates in following states:

1. Chhattisgarh: Phase 1 voting to take place on 12 November and phase 2 on 20 November

2. Madhya Pradesh: 28th November

3. Mizoram: 28th November

4. Rajasthan: 7th December

5. Telangana: 7th December

Counting of votes

Counting of votes to be done on 11 December for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana state assembly elections.

The election commission also informed that Voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) will be used in the polling.

However, by-polls in Shimoga, Bellary and Mandya in Karnataka to be held on 3rd November.
