Dynamite News Drone Federation India in trouble, PIL filed in Delhi High Court seeking CBI probe into forgery scandal

New Delhi: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed against the Drone Federation India (DFI), formerly known as the Drone Federation of India, alleging that it falsified official documents to obtain regulatory approvals.
As per Dynamite News correspondent, the PIL was filed on January 29, 2025 (Diary No. 649726/2025) in the Delhi High Court, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged forgery of government documents by DFI.
'DFI forged a No Objection Certificate'
Tej Pratap Singh, a RTI activist, has approached the High Court, alleging that DFI forged a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to rebrand itself and bypass legal process. The PIL claims that DFI submitted this fraudulent document to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), misleading the public into believing they had official government backing.

Besides, the DFI is also accused of using lobbying tactics to unfairly influence tenders in favor of certain member companies, suppressing competition in the UAV sector. The FDI's tenancy in the erstwhile Air India Building has also raised eyebrows, with claims that it was secured through questionable recommendations.
The PIL has sought immediate action and the Central agency's inquiry to ensure transparency and accountability.
The organisation's leaderships, including its board of directors, now has come under scrutiny.

Activist submittes details to CBI and MCA
Activist Tej Pratap Singh had submitted a detailed report to both the CBI and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), but claims that he hasn't received any communication from the agencies. This lack of response has prompted Singh to seek the court's intervention.
