New Delhi: Eminent Jurist and 4th term Parliamentarian Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi has hit out at the Central Government and said that Modi Govt's policy on Balochistan is quite 'ambiguous', which exposed its ‘hollow foreign policy’.

Dr Singhvi took to X and accused the BJP-led Union Government of reducing the Baloch struggle to mere election optics, using it as a political tool rather than genuinely advocating for their rights.

"From Lal Qila in 2016 to deafening silence in 2024—Modi Govt’s flip-flop on #Balochistan exposes its hollow foreign policy. While Balochs suffer under Chinese and Pakistani Punjabi hegemony, BJP reduces their struggle to mere election optics. India must stand for justice, not just jumlas! So should the global fraternity!," the Congress MP posted on X.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his third Independence Day speech in 2016, made a reference to Balochistan, accusing Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism and committing human rights abuses in the province.

Dr Singhvi’s statement came hours after rebels of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) hijacked a train carrying over 400 passengers in Balochistan province.
