Patna/ 14 July 2016.
Dr. Jeetendra Gupta, young IAS of 2013 batch, Bihar was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000.

The officer was posted as SDO of Mohania sub-division in Rohtas district. Gupta, his official driver and house guard were arrested by vigilance sleuths from his office-cum-residence.

After arrest, vigilance sleuths took the SDO and his two staff to Patna for production before the designated court.

According to Dynamite News Correspondent, SDO himself, on July 4, unofficially detained four trucks on way to Haryana from Jamshedpur at Kudara on NH-2 on the charge of overloading. However, instead of handing over the seized trucks to police, he parked them near a line hotel. No seizure list was issued to the truckers.

He allegedly demanded Rs 1.60 lakh for the release of four trucks. The drivers finally agreed to pay Rs 80,000. Meanwhile, they informed the vigilance department which, after a preliminary inquiry, lodged a complaint. The team caught SDO's driver Sanjay and house guard Ashok Lal while counting cash at his official residence it is being said.
