New Delhi/ 8 June 2016.
The Central government intend to encourage the opening of Sanskriti Schools  especially in metros  for the children of Central government employees. These schools will be on the pattern of Sanskriti School in Delhi. The government thinks that the existing  Kendriya Vidyalayas network in the country is not enough to meet the demand of the wards of transferable central government officers.

Seeking comments from ministries
The government has sent a circular in this regard all the ministries seeking their comments. According to the circular any state can set up a Sanskriti type school in the capital or any other metro cities where a large number of civil servants are posted. The Centre would support such initiative, provided the land for the school is given by the state.

The central ministries, universities or IITs or IIMs also can initiate such a proposal provided they give land for the school free of cost, according to the policy.

Reservation of seats
Sixty percent seats in theses Sanskriti schools will be reserved for children of All India Service officers including 30 per cent for central government and the rest 30 per cent for state employees if the state provides the land. Out of the remaining 40 per cent, 25 per cent will be for children from weaker sections and the rest 15per cent for the general public.

The Supreme Court has stayed a Delhi High Court order that last year quashed a 60 per cent quota for children of transferable Group A civil servants in the Sanskriti  School in Delhi.
