Decks have been formally cleared, for RSS functionary Sanjay Joshi’s return to the BJP fold which he had quit a couple of years ago following a tape controversy.

According to sources, the stage for his homecoming was formally discussed when party president Amit Shah met RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat at Indore recently to apprise him about the developments in the party and the government. The party’s debacle in the recent Bihar polls, the government’s failure to get important bills like GST passed in Parliament and its non-ability to rein in Bihar MP, Kirti Azad who has been posing a challenge to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley leveling charges of corruption.

The BJP president, Amit Shah’s tenure as party president is almost coming to an end and he is keen to seek another term. The RSS feels that with prominent states like UP, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu going for polls very soon, the time is ripe for the party to bring in a popular personality to tackle the party affairs.

Sources told Dynamite News the RSS supremo told Shah, that they would not object him as party president for another term and set a pre-condition that this could be done provided, Sanjay Joshi is brought back into the party mainstream with a major assignment.

With this, it is almost clear that Joshi will be back in the party much to the chagrin of Modi and Amit Shah. Their open dislike for Sanjay Joshi is well known in the party corridors. Many disgruntled MPs and party leaders have been calling on Joshi at his residence, 45-North Avenue in Delhi almost on a day to day basis.
