First Superstar of Indian Cinema
The real name of Rajesh Khanna was Jatin Khanna. He changed his name on his uncle’s advice when he stepped into the film industry. He was selected through a talent hunt organized by Filmfare and United Producers in 1965. Rajesh Khanna is referred as the first superstar of Indian Cinema.

Greatest Romantic Actor
The sensuous song Roop Tera Mastana in the film Aradhna, starring Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore created history by becoming the first single-take song in Hindi cinema. All the eight films in which Rajesh Khanna was romantically paired with Mumtaz were big hits. However, the actor played the love interest of Hema Malini the maximum number of times. 

‘Kaka and Dimpy’
Rajesh Khanna married Dimple Kapadia in 1973. Both were very romantic people and referred each other with nicknames ‘Dimpy and Kaka’. Their marriage could not survive for more than 10 years, but they never got divorced. Rajesh Khanna and his wife Dimple Kapadia were to work together in a film called 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar'. However the movie subsequently got shelved.

An Illustrious career
Rajesh Khanna has done 180 films in a career spanning for 45 years. The superstar gave 15 consecutive superhits as a solo during 1969-1971 which includes Aradhna, Khamoshi, Safar, Kati Patang, Anand and others. Rajesh Khanna was the highest paid actor from 1970-79.
