PM Modi lays foundation stone of IIIT Guwahati

Guwahati/19 Jan 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a two-day trip to Sikkim and Assam will be laying the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati new campus and will address students of IIT, NIT and other Northeast Central Universities.

A two-day trip to Sikkim and Assam, on 18 January and 19 January, was planned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the State Agricultural Ministers Conference on sustainable development, organic farming and eco-tourism, interact with organic farmers, lay the foundation stone for IIIT Guwahati and interact with students.  

 


 

IIIT Guwahati
Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati is one of the 20 IIITs being established by the Central Government. The institute began in August 2013 and while it’s currently operating from a temporary campus, the institute will shift to the new campus on its completion which is expected by the end of 2017.
