PM in Iran: Holds restricted meeting

Tehran / 23 May 2016.  PM Narendra Modi meets Iran President Hassan Rouhani and held a restricted meeting ahead of the delegation level talks. PM received a ceremonial welcome.. PM Modi and the President Hassan Rouhani will sign six agreements and bilateral talks will focus on trade and connectivity.

The agreements will include the Chabahar agreement ,a trilateral transit pact between India, Iran and Afghanistan ,a port  was built by India in southern Iran , a deal involving the Exim bank, and relating to a deal between Export Credit Guarantee Corporation and their Iranian counterpart, and one between NALCO and an Iranian partner.

PM addresses Indian Gathering in Bhai Ganga Singh Sabha Gurdwara
The Prime Minister addressed an Indian Gathering in Bhai Ganga Singh Sabha Gurdwara in central Tehran. He applauded the efforts made by the Sikh community in Persia and also told that Indians have a special ability to assimilate with any culture. PM also interacted with students of various Schools.

This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister after 15 long years in Tehran.
