Senior diplomat Pavan Kapoor has been appointed as India’s new ambassador to Israel succeeding Jaideep Sarkar. A 1990 batch officer, Kapoor is presently the high commissioner of India in Maputo.

In a statement, External Affairs Ministry said, “He is expected to take up his assignment shortly.”
