Parvez Ahmad to head J&K Bank from Oct 6

Srinagar/ 30 September 2016. Parvez Ahmad will take charge as the next Chairman-cum-Chief Executive Officer of Jammu and Kashmir Bank on October 6 after Reserve Bank of India (RBI) approved his appointment.

"RBI has approved the appointment of Parvez Ahmad as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of J&K Bank for a period of three years with effect from October 6, 2016," a spokesman of the bank said here.

He said the Jammu and Kashmir government, which controls more than 50 per cent of the shares of the bank, received the RBI affirmation in this regard today.

Parvez Ahmad, who will replace Mushtaq Ahmad, will be the first in-service and second in-house Chairman and CEO of the bank.

"Having rich experience of almost two decades in banking and financial services, Parvez Ahmad is currently the seniormost Executive President of the bank. Well-known in the banking circles, he commands respect from both within the bank and outside," the spokesman said. (PTI)
